2023 Calendar of Events
Membership Drive: Saturday, May 27 from 8:30-10:30 am at the Green Lake Calvary Church Youth Center (old sanctuary). Coffee, juice and yummy donuts provided. Come and join the Association for $75, receive the current a-Round Green Lake Association directory and meet old and new friends.
Boating Safety Class: Saturday, June 3 from 8:00 am-3:00 pm at the Green Lake Calvary Church gym. Bring a pencil, drink and sack lunch--a snack will be provided by the Association. The course is free and no advanced registration is required. Those already or who will be turning age 12 this summer are encouraged to attend along with adults.
Spring Trash Day: also Saturday, June 3 from 9am – Noon.
The Association will have one dumpster to use for Association Members only. Watch Association emails for location. NO appliances, mattresses, box springs, tires, paint, cement, stumps, yard waste, etc. When the dumpster is full, the event is over. Please do not leave items outside the dumpster.
Fishing Tournament: Saturday, June 10 from 6am - 11am. This weekend no fishing permit is needed from MDNR. Family event with prizes for kids 8 & under; 9-15 and adults. Entry Fee: $5/person, which includes a cool t-shirt! Questions? Call Tim Speyer at 616-813-0528
Boat Parade: Monday, July 3 at 7:30pm meet in the big lake by the Reus beach where fireworks are shot from (NW corner). Decorate your boat patriotically (prize for best decorated) and cruise around the entire lake before the fireworks.
Fireworks: also Monday, July 3 at dusk shot off from the Reus beach in the big lake (NW corner). If observing by boat, please stay at least 500' off shore to allow for a fireworks safety zone. Rain Date is Friday, August 13
Pancake Breakfast: Tuesday, July 4 from 8:30am - 10:00am at: Green Lake Calvary Church gym
Land Parade: Tuesday, July 4 at Noon. Line up begins at 11:30 in the West parking lot of Green Lake Calvary church. The parade will proceed East down 145th Ave (Kalamazoo Ave), to South Shore Dr., then to Round Lake Dr., and back to Kalamazoo Ave ending at the Fire Department building.
Family Night & Association Annual Meeting: August 3 (Family Night at 5:30pm & Meeting at 7pm) in the back parking lot of the Green Lake Calvary Church with handicap parking provided (the gym in case of rain).
Food from food trucks will be available to purchase starting at 5:30 pm. Everyone will receive a free dessert coupon from the Association. There will be a bounce house for the kids along with other games. The Association Annual Meeting will begin at 7pm.
Enjoy great food, fun talking with neighbors and lake news.
Added Fun: The Critter Barn will be there with their portable petting zoo for Family Night at 5:30!
a-Round Green Lake Charity 5k Run/Walk, and Kids' Fun Run: Saturday, August 5, 8:30 AM starting at Leighton Fire Station #2 (former Township Hall).
Early registration is by July 25.
Green Lake Rocks: Saturday, August 26, 5:00-9:00 PM. This year our band will be the very popular and West Michigan favorite: Brena! Anchor your boat along East Shore, in front of Paul & Brooke Richard's home (4521 East Shore) which is near the SE corner of the big lake and ENJOY! Bring snacks and stay as long as you can. Fun give-a-ways! Sponsored by Action Water Sports
